A New School Life
Every morning I wake up to the torturous noise of my annoying alarm clock and so that began my "who -knows-what-will-happen" life.
“Beep, beep!”
“Beep, beep!”
“Mmm…”
“Beep, beep!”
“Shut up! Oh wait,
it’s 7:15a.m already. I can’t believe it’s morning.”
“Ugh… Guess that’s
the cruel reality of life.”
“Beep, beep!”
“I am so annoyed
right now.” She grunts while turning off her annoying alarm clock.
“Better get ready
for the first day of school.”
After doing the
morning daily routine, she grabbed her school bag and headed downstairs into
the kitchen. She hastily took a piece of bread and forcefully stuffed it in her
mouth.
“It’s not really the
best breakfast, but it’ll have to do.” She said to no one in particular,
chewing the mouthful. It tasted dull and plain. She hoped school would be a bit
more interesting than the taste in her mouth.
“Goodbye to anyone
who is currently still in this house sleeping.”
“Bitter silence,
just as I thought—Mom’s definitely still sleeping. Oh well, I might as well go
to school now.”
She strolled to her
new school, Elluel High, the top school in the country, and also the most
modernized high school where top students from other countries dwell about, as
well as students from the richest families. People who are accepted into Elluel
High are usually people who got scholarships because of their remarkably
perfect results… or simply the fact that they are extremely rich.
Elyza's Mind
Unfortunately, I got
good results in my final exam and my mom picked this school for me. I wish
she didn’t do that, it’s just too… top-ish plus I heard there were lots of
playboys… Hah, more fun for me. Beware of the gang girl! Cause I’m coming to
deal with you immatures. Mwahahaha. I just really love my gang, I'm really
proud of wearing this symbol on my hat. Sigh, just a few more meters before I
reach the school. Ugh. But still, I can’t wait to punch some sense into those
playboys.
Thinking about what
just happened, she walked to an even faster pace feeling evil. A few minutes
later, she reached Elluel High. A dazzling crystallized building sparkled
beneath the shining rays of sunlight. The windows all had marble frames, making
the area seemed grand and royal. The cafeteria was piled up with French
restaurant style tables and chairs that go exceedingly well with the black
glistering walls under the shade of humongous trees. The roof was made of resin
and you could see the sky scenery especially when it rains. The building
painted in fine beige paint with double bricks as good insulator for the
weather. Everything seemed grand and modern, a perfect high school.
“Well, here I am,
the ultimate nerd school, Elluel High.”
“But, wow, this
place sure does not look like a school. It has a candy store and a milkshake
bar. What kind of high school has that?”
“And a see-through
roof? Are you serious?”
“Oh wells, I want to
check out the interior now. Besides, school is almost starting and I haven’t
taken my schedule from the office.”
She paced to an even
faster pace and headed to the office by following the humongous signs hanging
around the ceiling.
“May I please get my
schedule for the year?”
“Okay, what is your
name?” The teacher asked with a British accent.
“Elyza Phin.”
“Alright, just a
moment please.”
Elyza looked around
and found another girl sitting on the bench reading an amazingly thick book. She
somehow felt that the cover of the book was very familiar but she didn’t bother
to remember. Bored Elyza went over to her and started a conversation.
“Hey.”
“… H-hey.” The girl
replied.
“I’m new here and I
really want to make friends.”
“O-oh, I’m Emily…
Caesar.”
“I’m Elyza Phin.”
“Welcome to
E-Elluel.”
“Thanks.” Elyza
paused and began again. “So, can I hang around you sometime today?”
“S-sure. Why not.”
“So how about-”
Elyza spoke, unfinished.
“I finally found
it!” The lady in the office interrupted Elyza. “Here you go, Elyza. Enjoy your
day.”
“Mmm, we’ll see
about that. Bye Emily, it was nice meeting you.”
“…Bye.” As Emily
continues off, drenched in the book.
Elyza checks her
schedule.
“Maths. Isn’t that
just so exciting.” She said with sarcasm.
The blue door that
labelled ‘Maths- Ms. Luvation’ opened as she entered maths class just before
the bell rang and there stood a brunette. She looked in her twenties and has a
gentle but serious aura surrounding her. Everyone in class was sitting quietly as
if the teacher was going to bite off their skull when someone talks.
“You must be the new
girl.”
“I thought everyone
was new.” Elyza replied.
“Well… not exactly,
they were all here for the intro orientation and you with another student
didn’t come.”
“Oh. That’s
reassuring.”
“Elyza Phin, Is it?”
“The one and only.”
Miss Luvation turned
to the class and started speaking in a loud manner.
“Class you have one
new student today and she will now introduce herself.”
“I’m Elyza Phin. I’m
turning 15 this year and is currently interested in helping ‘others’.”
“Alright. I hope you
make her feel welcomed. Take a seat next to Emily, the blonde hair girl with
blue eyes, Miss Phin.”
"Emily?"
"Yes Emily now
go."
"Okay
then."
Elyza's Mind
How did she get here faster than me? I left after her and she was still reading her book. She
might be a wizard. That's so cool! I should hang out with her more, maybe
she'll teach me wizardry. I'm so excited now. Okay. Calm down. Phew. Just sit
there act like nothing had happened. It's all good.
She sat next to
Emily and class began like any normal class. They played an introduction game
by memorizing people's names and games that help get to know one another. So it
went on until Maths was over.
‘Ring! Ring! Tic!
Tic! Switch Classes! You have five minutes or teacher will be sending you to
detention! Ring! Ring! Tic! Tic!' The announcement sounded.
"Alright class
time to go." Miss Luvation said.
"Thank you Miss
Luvation." Everyone replied while standing up, getting ready to rush for
the next class before five minutes.
Elyza's Mind
That was an
interesting Maths class. I don't even know how that was related to Maths. Oh
wells. Oh! I forgot to ask Emily about the hang out time. I should ask her now.
"Emily! Emily!
Wait!" She shouted across the class. Emily turned back and silently stared
at Elyza.
"Do you want to
hang out at recess with me?"
"O-oh... I have
to help Mrs. Kay with the notice board." Emily replied nervously.
"Okay then. How
about lunch?"
"Sure. That
would be good."
"Then it's
settled. Bye!"
They both went
separate ways to attend different classes. With that, the time flew
and it was finally recess.
